As an American, this was an amazing experience. Out of several restaurants in Cassis I've gone to, these were the KINDEST people you could encounter. I highly highly recommend. Also the food was phenomenal and they can give great wine recommendations for people who don't know the French wine profiles.

What made it even more special was the warm, welcoming atmosphere. The boss is genuinely one of the friendliest people we’ve met, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. A true gem by the sea — highly recommend to anyone visiting Cassis!- Service

€20 for two course lunch with a coffee - the fish comes with amazing sauce and the dessert is a apple cooked in sugar and shaved in a spiral like way. Absolutely amazing, authentic and homey. Would recommend.

First time in cassis - was recommended a couple places but this was a standout. I tried going to another restaurant and the food wasn't as good. Ended up eating here three days in a row and ordered the moulees gratinees (mussels), provencal fish, and bouillanbaise. Don't miss out on the mussels - a new fave! Great service, the staff were accommodating, warm and friendly - lovely overall atmosphere and tucked away in the little alleyways ✨- Prix par personne

The staff were great, felt very taken care of. Bossman brought the live lobster to the table and made it say “bonjour”! Yummy fish soup, amazing brown butter lobster all deshelled for me (most helpful of them) and loovely poached apple dessert with chantilly. Ambience in the cool summer night and chatter in the alley very charming.

Jean Marie has been running this restaurant for the last 32 years. The cuisine is fresh and the owner is very friendly. Today, we enjoyed the menu du jour for $20, which included a main dish, dessert, and a coffee (see picture). It was delicious. This recommendation from a local customer did not disappoint us. Merci Jean Marie 😃

The food is excellent and priced affordably. The location is a little bit off the waterfront offering a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere. Jean Marie and his staff are very friendly and attentive. My wife, children and I enjoyed dining here several times. At some point, I hope to return and try the bouillabaisse.

I've been here twice so far, some of the best dining you can have in Cassis. Duck breast and rib roast for main courses. Duck was delicious with honey and a bit of mustard sauce. The steak was incredible. Must get au poive sauce, the best!!!
Moules (muscles) were soon tasty and not heavy. No idea how this is done, but dip your bread in the sauce!
Cannot say enough about the service and hospitality. Just go!
Had lunch here as well, shrimp appetizer was great. Pork filet as well as whole fish were great- Service

Jean marie and the rest of the waitstaff were wonderful and so accommodating. Not easy to find folks that want to help out with two boys 4 and 6 and they went above and beyond. The seabass grilled simple with lemon and olive oil was amazing as were the shrimp salad and oysters

Highly recommend walking up through the back alleys off the Casiss port to reach this little gem. Possibly the best seafood meal I’ve ever had in my life. Staff was friendly and helpful when picking out items off the menu. Very reasonably priced given the quality of food and service.

Delicious, tasty bouillabaisse. We went back for grilled sea bass and lobster. The sea bass was so soft melt in mouth. A bit tight space inside but like in most other restaurants. Restaurant Le Bonaparte is our BEST value and best served seafood restaurant in Cassis.

Decent boulliabase, done right. I’d give it a 3.75/5 because it was done right but lacked heart and fresh aromatics. And imagination. In this day and age, I expect better. Typical French haute cuisine- cannot pack leftovers, which leads to a lot of wastage.
